We aim to preserve and promote Skelmersdale's farming and coal mining heritage and exhibit all aspects of local history at various points around the town, particularly to the younger generation and the influx of new residents since the town's major development.
This is the MACHINE INN in at Pemberton, taken from Ormskirk Rd Pemberton Wigan near to its junction with White St. It later became Stewart Paul Shoes, which was opened by Ken Dodd circa 1980.It is actually on the crossroads with Fleet St and Orrell Rd the continuation Of Ormskirk Rd. Dave Allen.
All my ancestors would have named this pub. I am so annoyed that I don't know it ... even if it looks vagueley familiar.
